Angie's Showcase 2009 - celebrating 10 years in business!
On Saturday, May 30th, 2009, I was a part of 10th Annual Angie's Showcase (www.angiesmodels.com) . It was a heart-warming celebration of beautiful models and all the other talented people from Angie's Modelling and Talent Agency. Angie, the owner of the agency and a charming host of the event, beautifuly dressed and with an encouraging smile, as always, presented her models and talents to hundreds of attendees and VIP guests.
As a participating fashion designer I was more than pleasantly surprised with the highly professional yet very friendly attitude of all the models. The passion and determination of these young girls made the difference at the backstage.
I have always liked working with Angie's models. They are very well organized and reliable, the same way as their manager, Angie, is herself. Maybe there is a connection, I guess.
I presented 20 of my recent designs there, starting with more casual yet original and very wearable summer dresses and separates. Later I showed some cocktail pieces, ending with a couple of red carpet long gowns. All my designs were completed with original jewellery made by Ottawa-based successful jewellry maker and artist Andrea Kolpaska (www.originalsbyandrea.com). Our runway presentation was shot by a very talented Ottawa photographer/visual artist Eric Mercier.
The event was flawlessly coordinated by Rania Abdulla, who I know from other fashion shows, like Ottawa Fashion Week vol.1 and 2., several benefit fashion shows etc. Good job, Rania!
Thanks to the friendly atmosphere and family vibe throughout the entire evening, we all could feel as a part of the big fashion family that night.
